Dr. Emer B. Bajuelos is proud to serve patients at Kimball & Beecher Family Dentistry in Des Moines. Originally from Holguín, Cuba, Dr. Bajuelos earned her Bachelor of Science from St. Thomas University, where she double majored in Chemistry and Biology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2017.
Following dental school, Dr. Bajuelos had the honor of serving for nine years as a dentist in the United States Army. Her military career gave her the opportunity to live, work, and serve in several incredible places, including New York, Egypt, and Alaska. Her time in the Army helped shape both who she is personally and her approach to caring for patients.
Dr. Bajuelos was drawn to dentistry because it combines her passion for healthcare with her love of working with her hands and being creative. She finds it especially rewarding to make a meaningful difference in her patients’ lives—whether that means relieving pain, restoring confidence, or helping someone feel comfortable and cared for during their visit.
Her philosophy of care centers on treating every patient with genuine compassion and making sure they feel heard, informed, and involved in their treatment. Dr. Bajuelos believes in helping patients understand not only their immediate dental needs but also their overall oral health so they can feel confident making decisions about their care.
After completing her military service, Dr. Bajuelos and her family were excited to make Iowa their forever home. Her husband grew up in Iowa, and together they are raising their two-year-old daughter and two sons, ages 14 and 10. Their family also includes a much-loved cat.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bajuelos enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring new places, and working on interior design projects. She is excited to put down roots in the Des Moines community, build lasting relationships with her patients, and care for families through every stage of life.
